INDOCOURSE

A. The Course

The INDOCOURSE (INDOnesian language COURSE) founded in Jakarta 1988. I was not the first but I know how to teach more effectively. The focus is on efficiency learning the language at various level of proficiency. The INDOCOURSE is rapidly expanding its operation within the city through direct service to students. I have original method of teaching and learning Indonesian as a second language. 

B. The Students

There are a wide group of students who have association with this course. Most of them are from international Companies ( i.e. ARCO, Nestle, Newmont, Sinar Mas, BHP, Cadbury, BECHTEL ) 

C. The Teachers

Experienced teacher of Indonesia as a foreign language. They have teaching qualification and understand the type of difficulties. Though they will teach primary through the medium of Indonesian, all are fluent speakers of both Indonesian and English. A foreign language and culture teacher selection is very strategic point to begin creating an harmonious world life, I aim at.  Not all native speakers of what ever languages is capable to teach his or her language and culture, because learning a language is a unique process, and the leaning process itself is so much influenced by student-teacher interaction quality.  Modern language teaching technique, and media may also contribute their share. So it is important that these teachers are aware those technology.      

D. The ClassTypes/Fees 

There are

1. Intensive Course

Three times a week  @ 1.5 hours per session. It takes about three months to finished it.  Minimum two students Total 36 hours      Fees: 15 $ per student/hour + extra one Indonesian text book. 

2. Super intensive Course

This is a TOTAL IMMERTION Course. It is designed on a special location out of the city. Located in Bukititnggi West Sumatra – the land of Minangkabau People. It takes about one week (seven days) to finished it.  Minimum five students. This course will be held on the first and third week every month.Fees: 50 $ per student/day + extra one Indonesian text book. (Not included Accommodation, Lunch/ Dinner, and transportation from and to Bukititnggi) 

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE 

1. To draw lesson, to enable development of strategies for teaching/ studying bahasa Indonesia to speakers of other languages.
2. To develop a theoretical framework for teaching/ studying bahasa Indonesia to speakers of other languages.
3. To explore the roles of culture for teaching/ studying bahasa Indonesia to speakers of other languages.
4. Explore the Minangkabau Culture.
