Bahasa Indonesia is taught not only in Indonesia but also in other countries. Schools and universities students overseas (i.e. Australia) are enthusiastic to study the language.
ASEAN and APEC free market will expose to people migration from different countries, hence the usage of Bahasa Indonesia will intensify promotion of Indonesia to other countries.
Mutual understanding between peoples of different nations can only begin through “direct contact”. Language and culture class contact, at school, are the best place for people to learn and to begin with. I believe, the most suitable person to introduce language and culture to non-native speakers is the real master of the language, in question, within the frame of its native culture, because it is with this kind of people whom the learners will communicate with. With these people, they must develop mutual understanding, living together in mixed community.
